I was preparing my lunch for school while my mom and dad were having a discussion about what was the best way to get rid of wrinkles. They both weren’t getting any younger. This problem bothered my mom too much while my dad didn’t really care. I guess that’s how it’s always been, women are more concerned about the way they look when they get older. So to appease my mom, they both decided to do a survey across the neighborhood. I could see that dad was quite pissed off because they had to go through so much trouble just to ask what was best in removing wrinkles.
Mrs. Maribojoc who lives in the first house on the left, and looks nowhere near her age was the best person to ask regarding the best way to get rid of wrinkles, I’ve known her since I was a kid but she hasn’t aged a bit all these years. She even looks younger everyday. She advised my mom and dad to visit a facelift surgeon. (Not to mention, Mrs. Maribojoc was also the richest in our neighborhood). She said that facelifts have been her secret in maintaining her appearance. Facelift or Rhytidectomy as the medical term would be, is the most extensive and expensive way to remove and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
In the procedure, the surgeon literally lifts the skin off the face to tighten the tissues underneath; then it would be repositioned smoothly over the face. My mom was oh, so amazed about this revelation but unfortunately, funds had to be the issue. Well, there’s always another option. So they proceeded to the next neighbor, Mrs. Parame, one of the simplest neighbors we had, but she managed to look young. When my parents asked her, she told them to eat right and live right. Not much to be heard from her because she was a bit of a loner too. So I concluded, maybe she meant they needed to lessen junkfoods and increase the intake of healthier foods. Fruits and vegetables, that’s what most doctors say anyway. Now they moved on to the next neighbor, Mrs. Sullivan, she was my high school teacher. She told my mom to check in the market for wrinkle reducing creams. A lot of those are out nowadays, she relayed, especially because of the wide desire to reduce wrinkles. They found the answers to their questions and were on their way home. Discussing this and that, it was a long night of conversation. The following day, my mom woke up with a smile on her face and a solution in hand I guess. They both went for the creams and healthy living. I’m guessing facelifts would have to wait.
My mom and dad are just a few out of the many people in this world who find wrinkles a problem. The best way to get rid of wrinkles really depends on you and your choices. Therefore, you have to decide on which method you think suits you best. Furthermore, I advise you young gals and guys to start eating right and living right as early as now. I’m sure it will help a lot on the delay of the aging process.
